Welcome to our calendar for 2024. Our most regular and popular events are the Farmers’ Markets held on the 1st Saturday of every month (except January). Then there’s our annual Plant Lovers’ Day in May where we welcome over 30 specialist plant nurseries to sell direct to you. We hold three Gift Fairs a year, a few evening events plus special events in conjunction with our shops and services on site. The May market gives a platform to spring fruit and vegetables as we emerge from “The Hungry Gap”. Always a joy to welcome asparagus back into our kitchens. Pair it perfectly with hollandaise made with butter and milk from Norton’s Dairy.

This summer, we invite you to the shores of Sicily for the intrigue, wit and wisdom of Much Ado About Nothing - staged in the beautiful setting of Creake Abbey ruins by Moving Parts Theatre Company.
July offers a kaleidoscope of colour from yellow courgettes to purple artichokes. Grab some of the freshest food you will find for miles around at the Creake Abbey Farmers’ Market this July.
Coastal Health & Wellbeing (Wells Community Hospital Trust) is holding its fourth dog show at Creake Abbey to raise funds to support its coastal community in living happier and healthier lives. You can expect dog shows, arts and crafts stalls, doggy trade stands and activities for children. Live music all day.
The August market busts with fresh berries, seasonal vegetables, pies and treats of many kinds! Bring your children for tasting and exploring the best food that Norfolk and beyond has to offer.
The Creake Abbey Summer Gift Fair is the second of three due to be held in 2024. Parking is free but an entry fee of £2 per adult over 16 yrs is levied. Over 80 stands celebrating Norfolk’s creative prowess where you will find artists of all kinds including jewellers, painters, needlecrafters, felters and many producers of fine goods including candles and wax melts, garments, fashion accessories, food and treats for four legged friends.
Fresh apples perfect for pairing with your Sunday roast or for divine pies amongst many other treats to markt the start of autumn.
Delicious, locally smoked salmon from The Staithe Smokehouse together with smoked prawns, fish and pate are amongst the treasures you will find at the October farmers’ market.
Mussels are back in season and it is great to have local fisherman Sarah from Brancaster Bay Shellfish with us. Pick up your fresh mussels for a classic moules marinière or try adding coconut milk and chilli instead of cream and onions for a more Asian take on this classic dish.

Christmas approaches so get ahead with delightful handmade chocolates, pick up your beef, pigs in blankets and pork mince for stuffing. Don’t forget to order your Christmas cake or Christmas pudding for collection or delivery!
Around 40 food stands and some gift stands to see you through the Christmas holiday period. A must for that pre-Christmas weekend when getting plans in order.
