June Farmers’ Market – Covid-19 safety procedures will be in place

We are delighted to be bringing you a modified version of the farmers’ market with the following stalls signed up to attend on 6th June.  By purchasing from our local producers and small businesses you are helping them to survive and get through this difficult time.  We, and they, are hugely grateful for your support in advance.

1. Order in advance

PLEASE CONTACT SPECIFIC STALLHOLDERS IN ADVANCE to find out what is being offered, what will be available and place your order for COLLECTION on the day at the market.  Simply collecting at the market shortens the amount of time you need to be shopping and around others not in your household.  Of course impulse purchases are possible but the emphasis is on you coming, collecting and going.  Contact details for each stall holder due to attend can be found below.  If you are looking for a specific stall holder not in the list this means they are either are unable to attend or we haven’t been able to contact them.

2. Collect at the market or by car between 1pm and 3pm on market day

For those of you who don’t want to leave your car, you can order in advance from participating stall holders who will pass your order (paid for in advance direct to the stall holder) to Rita and Richard Holland who will keep it for you to collect from the grain store at Creake Abbey between 1pm and 3pm on market day. You just drive up and they hand it over.  This is only possible for ambient goods however as we don’t have refrigeration available.

3. Procedures at the market

All stalls will be outside in the fresh air and a one-way system will be in operation.  Having parked on the field, walk towards the shops and enter the market as usual via the Courtyard area.  Follow a circular route down towards the tin barn, through the stables area and back up past the meadow to the car park.  The independent shops, Cafe and Food Hall will be closed.

PLEASE NOTE THE FOLLOWING NEW GUIDANCE:

  1. Please come alone or with only one other member of your household.
  2. Please do NOT bring dogs on this occasion.
  3. Please stay 2 meters from anyone not in your household at all times.
  4. Please follow instructions from the car parking marshals and any queue marshals who are there to ensure your safety and that of the stall holders and other visitors.
  5. Please do not linger at the market or use it as a social occasion (sadly, at this time) but come, collect and go.
  6. Please use hand sanitiser on arrival and at the exit (this will be provided).

Please note stalls will not be where they usually are so do ask if you need to find someone specifically.  Maps will be available.
