The village of North Creake came together in great style on Monday to celebrate HM The Queen’s Diamond Jubilee. The afternoon began
with fast paced traditional children’s games and races organised by Val Rivers and was followed by food and local band, the Sweetbeats, who performed live in the tin barn at Creake Abbey to gr
eat aclaim. Pretty much every able bodied soul was dancing by the end. Lin Murray co-ordinated the food – a wonderful hog roast supplied by Arthur Howell and the drink, supplied by local pub The Jolly Farmers. Tremendous cakes of all kinds, tray bakes, salads and puddings were provided by the committee and the guests alike. Father Clive Wiley presented huge chocolate medals to the winners of the races (medals kindly supplied by Sinita). The event was bathed in warm evening sunshine and the atmosphere was fit for The Queen! Well done to all who were invol
ved and to all those who came!
